After Instagram,YouTube is testing a new Tik-Tok like feature now.
This feature currently known as “Shorts” will let the users create and upload a short 15 second clip, which is pretty similar to what TikTok does.
“Shorts’ will be available on the Mobile Application only.
YouTube announced on Wednesday:
“We’re testing out a new way for creators to easily record multiple clips directly in the YouTube mobile app and upload as one video. If you’re in this experiment, you’ll see an option to ‘create a video’ in the mobile upload flow. Tap or hold the record button to record your first clip, then tap again or release the button to stop recording that clip. Repeat these steps until you’re done capturing footage up to a maximum length of 15 seconds.”
This is not the first time when YouTube is targeting a rival by copying their feature with one of its own.
In 2017, YouTube also started its Stories feature which is some what similar to that of Instagram Stories.
Although, YouTube did not revealed any other details regarding the same— for instance if it would have any and fother control or features such as what kind of filters, effects, music, AR, or video speed options it will be available. These are the very tools which helps in making a viral TikTok video.
YouTube also said that new video experiment of theirs is running with a small group of creators across both iOS and Android.
