Qualcomm has revealed the synthetic benchmark scores of the flagship mobile chipset Snapdragon 888 SoC. The Snapdragon 888 Geekbench, AnTuTu, GFX Bench, scores have been shared by Qualcomm.
The Snapdragon 888 SoC was launched earlier this month with to provide better photography experience, with an all-new Qualcomm Spectra ISP. The new Snapdragon 888 SoC is also provides an improved performance and power efficiency in the AI processing — all at a rate of 26 tera operations per second (TOPS).
This chipset is going to power the Android flagships in 2021. It is being said that it could be to the Apple’s flagship A14 Bionic’s level.
Qualcomm has revealed the synthetic benchmark scores for its Snapdragon 888 SoC based on CPU, GPU, and AI use cases across platforms including AnTuTu, Geekbench, GFX Bench, Ludashi AIMark, AITuTu, MLPerf, and Procyon.
The reference design used for these tests features a 6.65-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by the Qualcomm 888 5G processor with an octa-core CPU running at up to 2.84GHz and is paired with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM module and 512GB storage. The device also had a 3,780mAh battery and a Type-C 3.1 Gen2 port.
Qualcomm ran each of the test three times and the final score is the average of the three test scores.
The Snapdragon 888 powered device scored 735439 points on AnTuTu benchmark.
The score of the Snapdragon 888 is around 21% more than the Snapdragon 865+ powered Asus ROG Phone 3 and 26% more than the Snapdragon 865 on the OnePlus 8T.
The Snapdragon 888 powered device scored 1135 points on Geekbench single-core tests and 3794 points on multi-core tests.
OnePlus 8 currently is in the lead with 886 single-core points, 3201 multi-core score and Snapdragon 865 under the hood. The Snapdragon 888 has 18% increase in scores over the Snapdragon 865+ and 28% over the Snapdragon 865 in comparison to the Geekbench scores of the ROG Phone 3 and OnePlus 8T. Also, the Snapdragon 888 has registered a 17% and 24% increase in scores over the Snapdragon 865+ and 865, respectively.
The Snapdragon 888 SoC comes with a third-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming mobile engine, which will prove o be a boon for gamers. This Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming mobile engine includes upgradable GPU drivers, desktop forward rendering, and frame rates which can reach up to 144 frames per second.
Mi 11 will be one of the first devices to come with the latest SoC. Several phone makers namely – ASUS , Black Shark , Lenovo , LG , MEIZU , Motorola , Nubia , Realme , OnePlus , OPPO , Sharp , Vivo , Xiaomi , ZTE; have also announced support for the new chipset from Qualcomm.
The Snapdragon 855 SoC beat the A14 Bionic chipset on AnTuTu. The chipset scored on an average 735,439 points on the benchmarking site and Apple’s silicon had 572,333 points. Although, the Snapdragon 888 SoC Geekbench scores are 400 points less than that of Apple’s A14 Bionic chipset. The scores by reference Snapdragon 888 SoC device are 1,135 points in the single-core test (v5.0.2) and 3,794 (v5.0.2) in the multi-core test.
